Wassail 1
A strong spiced wine of Scandinavian origins. Drink in small quantities.
Makes 8 servings .
1-1/2 cups red wine
1-1/2 cups ruby port wine
1 cup vodka
6 pods green cardamom
5 whole cloves
2 tablespoons grated orange zest
2 cinnamon sticks
2 ounces slivered almonds
1-1/2 teaspoons raisins
Combine wine, port, and vodka in a nonreactive pot.
Add cardamom, cloves, orange peel, and cinnamon, and gently warm (do not
boil) over low heat. Allow to steep for at least 20 minutes (longer is
better). Serve in heatproof glasses, sprinkled with almonds and raisins.

Holiday Punch 1
A delicious alcoholic beverage that's not too strong.
A combination of
Southern Comfort and citrus juices.
Makes 30 servings
1 (750 milliliter) bottle Southern Comfort liqueur
3/4 cup lemon juice
1 (6 ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 (6 ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate
3 liters lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
2 drops red food coloring
1 orange, sliced into rounds
1 lemon, sliced into rounds
In a large punch bowl, combine Southern Comfort, lemon
juice, lemonade concentrate and orange juice concentrate. Stir in lemon-lime
soda, and add a few drops red food coloring. Float orange and lemon slices
for garnish

Gluehwein
Gluehwein is a German/Austrian winter-holiday drink
that most tourists know as an after-ski drink. After you come in out of
the snow, it is supposed to make you glow with warmth again. Watch it :
Since you drink this wine warm, the alcohol goes to your head extra quick!
Drink when
you really have come in and do not have to go out
again! This is the one my father used to make for New Years Eve.
Makes 6 servings .
3/4 cup and 2 teaspoons water
10 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 orange
3/4 cup white sugar
1 (750 milliliter) bottle red wine
In a saucepan combine the water, sugar and cinnamon.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer.

A classic Scandinavian hot spiced wine punch served
with raisins and almonds. This will surely take the bite off those cold
winter nights. Flaming the brandy is optional.
Makes 24 servings .
2 (750 milliliter) bottles red wine
2 ounces dried orange zest
2 ounces cinnamon sticks
20 whole cardamom seeds
25 whole cloves
1 pound blanched almonds
1 pound raisins
1 pound sugar cubes
1/2 cup and 2 tablespoons brandy
Pour wine into a large pot. Bring to a boil over medium
high heat. Wrap orange zest, cinnamon sticks, cardamom and cloves in cheesecloth,
tie with kitchen string and put into pot. Let boil for 15 minutes, stirring

Christmas Punch
Delicious punch! Great for holidays, showers, parties! Make extra!
Makes 12 servings .
1/2 cup white sugar
2 cups orange juice
2/3 cup lemon juice
1 (4 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, with juice
2 tablespoons triple sec liqueur
1 (750 milliliter) bottle light rum
1 orange, sliced into rounds
1 lemon, sliced into rounds
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks
1 liter carbonated water
In a punch bowl combine sugar, orange and lemon juice,
stirring until sugar dissolves. Add cherries, triple sec, light rum, orange
slices, lemon slices, and pineapple chunks. Set for 1-2 hours to allow
flavors to blend. Add carbonated water and ice just before serving and
enjoy!

4 cups cranberry juice
8 cups prepared lemonade
2 cups orange juice
1 (4 ounce) jar maraschino cherries
1 liter ginger ale
1 orange, sliced in rounds
1 cup or Good Rum (optional)
In a large punch bowl, combine cranberry juice, lemonade,
Rum (optional) and orange juice. Stir in the maraschino cherries. When
ready to serve, pour in the ginger ale. Garnish glass with orange slice.

Apple Orchard Punch
This quick and easy punch would be delightful at a country wedding or any celebration. Champagne can be used instead of ginger ale for an adult punch.

1 (32 fluid ounce) bottle apple juice, chilled
1 (12 ounce) can frozen cranberry juice concentrate
1 cup orange juice
1-1/2 liters ginger ale (or same amount of Champagne)
1 apple
In a large punch bowl, combine apple juice, cranberry
juice concentrate and orange juice. Stir until dissolved, then slowly pour
in the ginger ale. Thinly slice the apple vertically, forming whole apple
slices. Float apple slices on top of punch.

1 (46 fluid ounce) can fruit punch
1 (6 ounce) can lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 (6 ounce) can frozen pink lemonade concentrate,
thawed
2-1/4 cups water
1 tablespoon red food coloring
1 In a large punch bowl combine apple juice, fruit
punch, lemonade concentrate, pink lemonade concentrate, water and food
coloring. Mix well

2 (0.13 ounce) packages unsweetened strawberry-flavored
drink mix powder
2-1/2 cups white sugar
16 cups cold water
2 (6 ounce) cans frozen orange juice concentrate
2 (6 ounce) cans frozen pineapple juice concentrate
3 oranges, sliced into rounds
1 liter ginger ale
8 cups orange sherbet
1 In a large punch bowl combine the drink mix, sugar
and water. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in the orange juice and
pineapple juice concentrates. Just before serving stir in the ginger ale
and slide in the sherbet.

Serve this fruity punch at any party or get together. It's refreshing and attractive.
Makes 40 drinks ( 40 servings).
1 (12 ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate
1 (12 ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate
3-1/2 cups pineapple juice
1-1/3 cups cranberry juice
ice cubes
Prepare the lemonade and orange as directed on cans.
Combine orange juice, lemonade, pineapple juice, and cranberry juice in
a large mixing bowl or pitcher. Chill well. Immediately before serving
add ice cubes

Cranberry Punch
Makes 6 servings .
1-1/2 liters cranberry-apple juice
1 liter ginger ale
2 limes, thinly sliced
6 sprigs fresh mint
6 cups ice
Half-fill 6 tall glasses with ice. Fill to about three
quarters with cranberry-apple juice. Pour ginger ale evenly into the glasses.
Stir gently. Decorate with lime and mint sprigs.

Cran-Dandy Cooler
A carbonated cranberry and pineapple refreshing cooler.
Makes 8 servings .
2 cups cranberry juice
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup orange juice
1 (4 ounce) jar maraschino cherries
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle ginger ale
1 orange, sliced in rounds
In a gallon pitcher combine cranberry juice, pineapple
juice, orange juice, cherry juice and lemon juice. Just before serving,
slowly add ginger ale; stir to blend. Serve over ice in cups or glasses.
Garnish with cherry and orange slices.

Christmas Carol
Punch
This is a spicy punch you can serve to the whole family. Makes 2 quarts (30 servings).
2 red apples
8 cups clear apple cider
8 cinnamon sticks
2 teaspoons whole cloves
1/2 cup raisins
1 large orange
1 lemon
1/4 cup lemon juice
Core apples, and slice into 1/2 inch rings. Cut orange
and lemon into thin slices. In a dutch oven, combine cider, cinnamon, cloves,
apple rings, and raisins. Bring to boil over high heat. Reduce heat to
low. Simmer 5 to 8 minutes or until apples are just tender. Remove cloves,
and add orange and lemon slices, and lemon juice. Pour into punch bowl.
Ladle into large mugs,

Wassail 1
This recipe is Great! to have with or after Christmas
dinner.
Makes 36 - 1/2 cup servings .
2-1/4 cups white sugar
4 cups water
2 cinnamon sticks
1 slice fresh ginger root
4 cups orange juice
2 cups lemon juice
8 cups apple juice
8 whole allspice berries
1 tablespoon whole cloves
In a large saucepan, combine sugar and water. Boil
for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and add cinnamon sticks, allspice berries,
cloves, and ginger. Cover and let stand in warm place for 1 hour. Strain
liquid into a large pot. Just before serving, add juices and cider and
quickly bring
to boil. Remove from heat and serve.
